Data Cooperative Initiative
This task force is led by Brian Bogue of Michelin and is working with purchaser members of the Coalition to explore opportunities for bringing claims data of Coalition members into a common warehouse for research purposes.
Diabetes Disease Management Initiative
Members of the Coalition will have the opportunity to implement the HealthMapRx program in the Upstate to enhance diabetes management efforts. HealthMapRx is a multi-stakeholder approach that aligns incentives for optimal care, involving employers, payers, providers, and patients. The program uses alterations in benefit design to engage consumers to participate in regular consultations with community pharmacists who act as coaches or mentors, helping patients set health and lifestyle goals and manage their diabetes effectively. Employees with diabetes will be enrolled in the program through their employer to achieve patient self-management knowledge about their condition and receive personalized coaching from HealthMapRx-qualified pharmacists at least once per quarter. Patients will have their co-pays for diabetes medications and supplies waived as an incentive to participate in the program. Health Plan Performance Improvement Initiative
This task force is led by Martin Storey of Michelin and works with health insurance companies to benchmark them against national standards using a National Business Coalition on Health (NBCH) tool called eValue8.
Hospital Performance Improvement Initiative
The Hospital Performance Improvement Task Force produced a consumer report in 2007 measuring Upstate hospitals on effectiveness and efficiency using nationally established measures. Click here to see the report. Over 50,000 copies of the report were printed and distributed throughout the state to the employees of member organizations. The task force will continue to produce these reports on an annual basis.
Small Business Initiative
The Coalition will be providing a workshop for small businesses to help them control their health care costs. The Small Business Taskforce, led by Vivian Anthony of the County of Greenville, will continue to explore legislative issues and options available for small businesses in South Carolina. Wellness Initiative
The Coalition has partnered with Activate Greenville, Activate Spartanburg, and Activate Anderson to encourage members to participate in this wellness program. These Activate programs are the new and improved version of Shrinkdown. It is a FREE year ‘round healthy living awareness program. There will be a Company/Group Challenge. Companies/groups will be rewarded based off of participation in the weigh-ins rather than actual weight lost.
