Roger Merrill, MD, is Chief Medical Office at Purdue Farms.  In his role at Purdue, Dr. Merrill has been responsible for teh design, development, and implementation of an integrated health care delivery system in rural areas serving 22,000 employees (approximately 50,000 lives).  Purdue has experienced a medical infation rate of minus 12% over 5 years, a per capita cost well below national averages, and measurably improved health status for Perdue associates.

Shawn Leavitt is the Vice President, Benefits, for Safeway, a Fortune 100 company that operates 1,775 retail stores across the U.S. and Canada. Safeway and its CEO, Steven A. Burd, are vocal participants in the nation’s health-care dialogue and are also active in both community and environmental affairs.

Philip J. Ransdell, CEBS is Senior Manager of Benefits within the Total Rewards Center of Expertise at Nissan North America, Inc.  He is responsible for the Employee Benefit Programs and Policies for Nissan’s U.S. and Canadian operations.  Prior to joining Nissan, Mr. Ransdell was the Manager of Healthcare Initatives at General Motors Corporation.

Andy Webber is President and CEO of the National Business Coalition on Health (NBCH).  NBCH is a national, not-for-profit, membership organization of 60 purchaser-based coalitions on health, dedicated to improving health, transforming health care, community by community. As President and CEO, Mr. Webber is responsible for overseeing all association activities including value based purchasing programs, government and external relations, educational programs, member communications and technical assistance, and research and evaluation.

Paul Goldbeck, CEBS is a Senior Vice President in Aon Hewitt’s Health and Benefits Practice based in Winston-Salem, NC, serving clients as a technical and strategic resource.  Paul is considered one of Aon Hewitt’s national thought leaders with over 20 years experience helping clients to align their benefit programs with their business needs through strategic analysis, plan design, administration, funding, and communication.
